BA GAU FA
Ba Gau Fa involves placing plastic cups next to the skin and creating a vacuum. The vacuum is typically created by the use of fire, however, at Beck Natural Medicine we have opted to use a pump to create the vacuum and avoid the risk of fire burns.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) this therapy is used to relieve blood and Qi stagnation. We have found Ba Gau Fa to be effective in treating back, neck, shoulder and musculoskeletal pain and it is our "treatment of choice" for those with tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, frozen shoulder and neck-to-hand radiating nerve pain which is typically due to some acute or chronic repetative trauma such as tennis, computer use etc.
Ba Gau Fa is both a treatment and diagnositic tool for us because the bruises only remain in the areas of blood/Qi stagnation. In the patient below, you can see that her stagnation and source of her pain is coming from two primary stagnation areas of her left back/shoulder.
